Yobe State Signs 20-Year Deal for Potiskum Trailer Park

On Friday, Yobe State formalized a 20-year concession agreement with Truck Transit Parks Limited for the management of the Potiskum trailer park. This agreement marks a significant milestone in the state's infrastructure development strategy, emphasizing the commitment of the state government to foster sustainable infrastructure through public-private partnerships.

Dr. Aliyu Isah Chikaji, Director General of YAPPPIP, highlighted the importance of improving logistics infrastructure to enhance the movement of goods, improve road safety, and reduce the indiscriminate parking of heavy-duty vehicles.

Governor Mai Mala Buni's administration aims to create an enabling environment to attract private sector participation in the development and management of public assets, positioning Potiskum as a major commercial hub in Northern Nigeria. The partnership is expected to bring significant private sector investment, improve operational efficiency, create jobs, and increase economic opportunities for residents.

Hon. Kaigama Umar commended the vision of Governor Buni in establishing large-scale initiatives and urged the concessionaire to adhere strictly to the contractual terms.
