Zadok Yohanna Debuts for Brighton in 4-0 Victory

Zadok Yohanna made his Premier League debut for Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, September 24, 2023, during a match against Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium, which Brighton won 4-0. Yohanna started the match on the bench and replaced Mats Wieffer in the 78th minute.

Brighton opened the scoring with an own goal from Victor Lindelof after eight minutes, followed by a goal from Maxim de Cuyper ten minutes later. Jack Hinshelwood scored twice in quick succession to extend Brighton's lead to 4-0.

Aston Villa's Joao Gomes received a red card, reducing his team to ten men after just 40 minutes. At 19 years and 55 days old, Yohanna became the fourth-youngest Nigerian to debut in the Premier League, following Victor Anichebe, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Shola Ameobi.

Yohanna joined Brighton from Swedish club AIK this summer for an initial fee of £24.2 million, potentially rising to £26 million with add-ons.
