APC Grassroots Organisation Warns Wike Against Disruption

Tensions have escalated within the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a warning from the APC Grassroots Organisation, led by chairman Mukhtar Tanimu Rabiu, directed at Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The organization cautioned Wike against destabilizing the party's internal structures as the 2027 general elections approach.

They accused him of employing political tactics reminiscent of those that fractured the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The group emphasized that Wike's "Rainbow Coalition" should not be viewed as an alternative political structure to the elected APC governors, legislative candidates, and party executives.

Rabiu alleged that Wike's strategy involves using allies to polarize party leadership, particularly targeting the Progressive Governors Forum, a key decision-making body within the APC. The statement also criticized the "curious silence" of the APC National Working Committee, chaired by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, amid Wike's maneuvers.

The grassroots organization reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid while insisting that such support must not undermine existing party structures.
