APC's Farouq Aliyu Rejects Wike's Political Maneuvers

Farouq Aliyu, a former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, of arrogance during a discussion on Channels Television’s Politics Today. This statement came in response to Wike's criticisms of APC governors and their opposition to political alliances that could impact the party's candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Aliyu emphasized that while the APC acknowledges Wike's past contributions, they would not permit him to use their party to revive the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stated, “We will not allow him to also use our party, the APC, to build his own party, the PDP.” The situation escalated in Ebonyi State, where Governor Francis Nwifuru asserted his political strength against any attempts to undermine his administration, dismissing claims that President Tinubu had ceded the state to the PDP and Wike.
