Rufai Oseni Critiques Tinubu's Absence Amid Miner Tragedy

Rufai Oseni, an anchor for Arise Television’s Morning Show, criticized President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing absence from Nigeria, particularly after the tragic deaths of 37 miners in Niger State. Oseni stated that the president should have returned to Nigeria upon learning of the incident.

He remarked that Nigerians should not express dissatisfaction with Tinubu's frequent foreign trips, as they elected him despite his tendency to spend extended periods abroad. Oseni highlighted that Tinubu has spent significant time outside Nigeria, noting that he had already been away for approximately 27 days this year.

He questioned the cost-effectiveness of the president's foreign trips, specifically the reported ₦37 billion spent, and demanded clarity on the actual investments that have returned to Nigeria as a result. Oseni concluded that if Tinubu believes he can effectively govern from abroad, he should continue to do so, as that is what Nigerians voted for.
