Halimat Omidina Reflects on Baba Suwe's Birthday Memories

Halimat Omidina, daughter of the late Yoruba actor Babatunde Omidina, known as Baba Suwe, commemorated what would have been her father's 68th birthday on August 22, 2026, by sharing poignant memories on her 𝕏 handle, @superstarrlimaa. Baba Suwe passed away on November 22, 2021, at the age of 63.

Halimat expressed the stark difference in celebrating her father's birthday without him, stating, “Today feels so different, no crowd, no jollof rice, no you in your new shirt.” She conveyed her sorrow over not having created more memories with him and regretted not taking his warning about his impending death seriously. Halimat recounted that Baba Suwe had told her he would die two days before his passing, a statement she initially dismissed as a joke.
