Abati Warns Oseni of Legal Risks Over Political Comments

On Thursday's edition of The Morning Show on Arise News, veteran journalist and former presidential media aide Rueben Abati cautioned his colleague Rufai Oseni to exercise caution with his on-air comments. Abati warned that Oseni's remarks regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sarafadeen Alli, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate could lead to lawsuits that the station may not be able to afford.

Abati specifically stated, “Rufai, be careful, you’ll bring lawsuits on this station that the station will never be able to pay,” and accused Oseni of maliciously impugning the integrity of the PDP candidate while tarnishing Alli's image. In response, Oseni asserted that he only hears about lawsuits when his views differ from Abati’s, indicating a disagreement over the interpretation of his comments.
