Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Disrupting Osun Election

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has accused former governor Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating desperate moves to disrupt the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2025. This accusation was articulated through a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawal Rashe, who claimed that Oyetola's actions stem from fear of imminent defeat.

The statement highlighted that recent opinion surveys indicated the APC's popularity was below 30%, while Adeleke's approval rating stood between 68% and 72%, demonstrating overwhelming support from the people. Adeleke asserted that the opposition has recognized their lack of chance in the polls and resorted to anti-democratic means as a last-ditch effort to secure power.

The statement also addressed recent revelations regarding the alleged stance of Bola Tinubu on the Osun elections, which reportedly dispelled notions of federal interference. The governor emphasized that the opposition's attempts to regain power through unconventional means have failed, particularly in light of local government crises.
