Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has sought the intervention of the Federal Government in response to a significant fire outbreak at Singer Market. During his visit to the scene, he emphasized the need for modern firefighting equipment to effectively contain such incidents.

The governor's statement was issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, highlighting the extensive damage caused to shops and properties in the market. He commended the efforts of the Kano State Fire Service and security agencies who battled the inferno.

Furthermore, he urged traders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency responders. Governor Yusuf also appealed for aerial support, identifying it as an essential tool to contain the fire and prevent its recurrence, thereby strengthening the capacity of fire services to respond effectively to emergencies in major commercial centers.
