Zamfara Assembly Bye-Election Declared Inconclusive By INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the bye-election for the South Constituency in Zamfara State inconclusive. The Returning Officer, Professor Lawal Sa'adu of the Federal University Gusau, announced the decision due to the margin between the leading party and its closest rival being less than the total number of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected in certain polling units.

The elections were canceled in two registration areas, affecting a total of five polling units. The All Progressives Congress (APC) described the election as tough and tense, accusing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of intimidation and using illegal means to influence the outcome.

The APC urged its members and supporters to remain calm as the electoral process continues.
