Zamfara First Lady Engages in Women Empowerment in Yola

Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal, the First Lady of Zamfara State, joined her counterparts from the 19 Northern states in Yola, Adamawa State, for a strategic engagement of the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum starting on September 15, 2026. This gathering aimed to enhance humanitarian interventions and empower women across the North.

The delegation, led by Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, First Lady of Gombe State, was welcomed by Hajiya Lami Fintiri, the host First Lady. The First Ladies engaged in various civic activities, including commissioning medical equipment at the Specialist Hospital in Yola and distributing essential care supplies.

They also launched an empowerment scheme at the Adamawa State Government House, providing financial grants and food to thousands of vulnerable women. This initiative reflects the Forum's commitment to gender-inclusive development and economic resilience among women.
