Zamfara Government Starts Oral Cholera Vaccination for 878,000 Residents

Zamfara State Government has initiated an oral cholera vaccination campaign targeting over 878,000 residents across six Local Government Areas affected by a recent outbreak. The campaign, launched at the Emir of Bungudu's palace, is a collaborative effort with the Federal Government and partners.

The vaccination drive aims to break the transmission of cholera and bring the outbreak under control. The state is also focusing on water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions to complement medical efforts.

With suspected cases reported in 14 LGAs and laboratory confirmation in seven, the campaign is crucial for public health in Zamfara.
