Zamfara State to Distribute Dangote Shares to Residents

The Zamfara State government has approved a plan to distribute shares in Dangote Group to 36,176 residents as part of its initiative to enhance financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Salisu Musa Tsafe Kainuwa, the commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Relief Matters, announced that each beneficiary will receive about 20 shares through the Dangote Initial Public Offering (IPO).
This initiative is a collaboration between the state ministries of Humanitarian Affairs and Finance, along with the Zamfara Investment Company. Beneficiaries will be selected from the 14 local government areas in the state, with 2,261 beneficiaries from each of the 13 LGAs and 4,522 from Gusau, the state capital.
The program aims to include persons with disabilities, ensuring broad access to investment opportunities. Governor Dauda Lawal approved this initiative as part of a larger humanitarian and economic empowerment agenda, with additional programs targeting women and young people expected to follow.
