Buni and Dangote Launch Investment Initiative for Yobe Women

A total of 43,928 vulnerable women across the 17 Local Government Areas of Yobe State will benefit from a share investment initiative funded by Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Dangote Foundation. Each beneficiary will receive 20 shares through the Dangote Initial Public Offering (IPO), aimed at promoting financial inclusion and wealth creation.
The initiative targets widows, orphans, and families affected by conflict, with the goal of strengthening household economic resilience. Dr. Mohammed Goje, the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, announced the fulfillment of financial commitments by Buni and Dangote ahead of the October 27 deadline.
He emphasized that this initiative is not just immediate financial assistance but a pathway to long-term economic value. The initiative originated from a vision articulated by Governor Buni at the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Goje expressed optimism that the initiative would empower women economically, contributing to community development and improved family welfare.
