Zamfara Lawmaker Defects from PDP to APC Citing Injustice and Neglect

Zamfara State House of Assembly member, Maharazu Salisu Faru, representing Maradun II Constituency, has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Faru, along with 1,000 supporters, made the switch at the APC state secretariat in Gusau, accusing the PDP of injustice and neglect towards his constituency.

The move follows extensive consultations with political stakeholders and ward leaders, who unanimously endorsed his defection. Faru's decision was formalized through a letter submitted to the State House of Assembly.

The APC State Chairman, Alhaji Danfulani Maikatako, welcomed Faru's defection as a significant boost to the party in the state.
