Zamfara Police Rescue 25 Abducted Women and Children from Bandits Amid Security Concerns

The Zamfara State Police Command rescued 25 abducted individuals, primarily women and children, from bandits in Kuraj village. The incident occurred in the Damba area of Gusau Local Government Area.

This rescue operation follows the recent kidnapping of 315 students from St. Mary's School in Agwara, Niger State.

The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora denied claims of receiving orders to shut down schools, as the government faces criticism for security lapses. Security agencies are intensifying efforts to combat the rising threat of banditry in the region.
