Zamfara State Achieves N358.9 Billion Revenue in 2024 - Focus on IGR and Development Projects

Zamfara State in Nigeria announced a total revenue generation of N358.9 billion in the 2024 fiscal year, achieving 82% of its N437 billion target. The State's Commissioner of Finance, Bello Auta, disclosed that the revenue performance was driven by improvements in Value Added Tax (VAT), Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), federal statutory allocations, and aid from development partners.

Auta highlighted the successful execution of projects worth N105 billion, including those focused on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI). Despite grappling with advancing IGR, the state managed its recurrent expenditure within limits, with 63% allocated for development projects.

The administration emphasized proper revenue documentation to curb improper payments and ensure financial transparency.
