Emirs of Gombe and Zazzau Promote National Unity

During a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmadu Nuhu Bamalli, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, the Emir of Gombe, emphasized the need for traditional rulers to collaborate more closely to foster national unity, peace, security, and cultural preservation. This visit aimed to strengthen the long-standing relationship between the Gombe and Zazzau emirates.

Abubakar highlighted the importance of regular consultations among royal fathers to enhance peace and improve security while preserving Nigeria's rich cultural heritage. He commended the leadership of the Emir of Zazzau, describing traditional rulers as key partners in supporting government efforts toward sustainable peace and coexistence.

The historical ties between the Zazzau and Gombe emirates date back to the 19th century Islamic reform movement led by Usman Dan Fodio, which promoted good governance, scholarship, and peaceful coexistence across northern Nigeria. The Emir of Zazzau reaffirmed the enduring relationship among Nigeria's traditional institutions, reflecting a shared commitment to national unity.
