Zenith Bank's Seminar Focuses on Non-Oil Export Growth

Zenith Bank Plc held its 10th International Trade Seminar on Non-Oil Export on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, celebrating a decade of advocacy for Nigeria's economic diversification. The virtual seminar, themed “Unlocking Value and Harnessing Growth,” gathered policymakers, regulators, exporters, and investors to discuss strategies for increasing Nigeria's export earnings.

Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank, acknowledged the bank's founder, Dr. Jim Ovia, CFR, for initiating the seminar in 2015. She highlighted Nigeria's non-oil exports reaching $6.1 billion in 2025, a significant increase from previous years.

Umeoji praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating a conducive business environment and commended the Central Bank of Nigeria's reforms under Governor Olayemi Cardoso. The keynote address by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, MFR, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, called for enhanced trade reforms and emphasized the importance of retaining more value from exports within Nigeria.
