Borno Governor Zulum Boosts Security Cooperation with Nigerien Counterpart

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State met with his Nigerien counterpart, Mahamadou Ibrahim Bagadoma, in Diffa to discuss enhancing trans-border security collaboration. The leaders deliberated on joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and sustaining recent gains against terrorism in the region.

The meeting focused on leveraging improved security to facilitate the return of displaced persons, particularly farmers, to their lands in the Lake Chad basin area. The discussions aimed to strengthen the security cooperation between Nigeria and Niger for more effective counter-terrorism efforts.
