**Overview:** Have you ever looked at an R script and thought, *“I don't understand any of this!”*? This meetup takes a different approach to learning R. Instead of starting with complicated syntax and asking you to memorise commands, we will learn how to **read and understand R code using your existing understanding of English**. We will break R code into familiar words, phrases, and instructions, learn how symbols and functions communicate meaning, and gradually turn simple English questions into R code.
