Akwa Ibom Teachers' Welfare Initiatives

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno declared an education emergency and introduced a ₦2.1 billion welfare package for teachers on World Teachers’ Day. This includes allowances for public school teachers and grants for private schools, alongside plans for teacher recruitment.

Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has approved a ₦50,000 wardrobe allowance for each of the state's 20,000 teachers, alongside other educational reforms, including the recruitment of 2,000 teachers and the establishment of an emergency education committee.

Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno declared a state of emergency in education, announcing the recruitment of 2,000 primary school teachers and welfare packages for educators. He also upgraded the State College of Education to a University of Education and appointed a new Vice-Chancellor.
