The Federal Government has initiated the deployment of 3,700 telecommunications towers under the National Universal Communications Access Programme, aiming to connect nearly 20 million Nigerians lacking access to phone and internet services, starting in Abia State.

The Nigerian government launched the Nigerian Universal Communications Access Project (NUCAP) tower site in Bende, Abia State, aiming to build 3,700 towers to connect over 20 million underserved Nigerians. The initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu's digital inclusion mandat
