Fatal Truck-Tricycle Collision in Epe, Lagos Claims One Life

On Monday, a tragic road traffic collision occurred in Epe, Lagos, involving a truck laden with yam and a stationary tricycle at Aiyetoro Junction along the traffic light corridor. Preliminary investigations by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) indicated that the truck, with registration number AGL 764 XB, was traveling from Ijebu Ode and attempted a U-turn towards Eleko Junction when the driver allegedly lost control.

The truck violently collided with the stationary tricycle marked SMK 127 QR, resulting in one fatality and three severe injuries among the tricycle's occupants. LASTMA's Director of Public Affairs, Taofiq Adebayo, confirmed the incident and noted that LASTMA operatives, in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Police Force, and Lagos State Fire Rescue Service, responded swiftly to the emergency.

The critically injured victims were extricated from the wreckage and transported to a general hospital for urgent medical attention. LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakar Oki expressed condolences to the deceased's family and emphasized the importance of maintaining order at the crash scene.
