Ten Killed in Night Attacks on Plateau Communities

On Sunday evening, between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM, coordinated attacks in Plateau State resulted in the deaths of at least ten individuals. The assaults targeted the communities of Dorowa and Babuj in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, with reports indicating that seven people were killed in Dorowa and three others sustained serious injuries.

The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Local leader Solomon Dalyop confirmed that the attacks were carried out by armed groups who struck almost simultaneously.

Despite prior warnings from security agencies about suspicious movements in the area, personnel from the military were deployed and managed to repel further attacks, preventing higher casualties. The violence underscores the ongoing tensions in the region, with local leaders calling for stronger security measures.

Additionally, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association alleged retaliatory attacks against its members, claiming two teenage herders were killed in a separate incident. The situation remains tense, with families mourning their losses.
