Bandits Kill Two, Injure Many in Plateau State Attack

On April 5, 2023, at least two people were reported killed and several others injured when suspected Fulani bandits attacked Pwomol Village in Heipang District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State. The attack occurred around midnight, with the assailants using sophisticated weapons to invade the community, resulting in sporadic gunfire that killed two youths and injured others attempting to escape into nearby bushes.

Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the president of the Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM), confirmed the incident via social media.

The attackers also set fire to houses and food barns. The BYM president identified one of the suspects as Suleiman, a Fulani man from the Riyom Local Government Area, who was apprehended by security operatives.

Bloodstains were reportedly found at the scene, and the bodies are currently in the custody of security operatives in Sector 4, Barkin Ladi LGA. Mwantiri called for a thorough investigation and the arrest of all suspects involved in the attack.
