10 Killed in Night Attacks on Plateau Communities

On Sunday evening, between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM, coordinated attacks in Plateau State resulted in the deaths of at least 10 individuals, with additional injuries reported. The attacks targeted the communities of Ratati, Dorowa, and Babuj in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, with local leaders indicating that seven people were killed in Ratati and Dorowa, while three others sustained serious injuries.

Victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Barrister Solomon Dalyop reported that nine people were killed during separate attacks in Dorowa and Babuj.

The assailants, believed to be armed groups, struck almost simultaneously, prompting a swift military response that helped prevent further casualties. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) claimed that two teenage herders were killed in a retaliatory attack, highlighting the ongoing violence in the region.

Local leaders have called for increased security measures to protect affected communities, while tensions remain high following these incidents.
