11 abducted people rescued in Benue

Eleven people who were abducted by kidnappers in Benue State have been successfully rescued and handed over to Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia. The victims, hailing from five different states including Benue, Enugu, Taraba, Cross River, and Ebonyi, were held captive by bandits operating in the Sankera axis of the state.

The rescue was a result of a coordinated effort by the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Police Force, Civil Defence Corps, and members of the Joint Task Force. Governor Alia expressed deep appreciation for the security agencies and operatives involved in the rescue operation, acknowledging the traumatic and painful ordeal the victims went through.

He praised their resilience in the face of terror and thanked God for the successful operation. The Governor commended the hard work and sacrifice of the security operatives in the field, emphasizing that their efforts made the rescue possible.
