Army Storms Kidnappers’ Hideout Rescues 27 Abducted Passengers In Benue

The Army successfully rescued 27 kidnapped passengers in Benue after storming the kidnappers' hideout as part of Operation Whirl Stroke. This operation also led to the deaths of 15 terrorists, the arrest of 42 suspects, and the rescue of 30 kidnapped victims nationwide.

In the North East, troops engaged Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents, resulting in the killing of 15 fighters and the recovery of weapons and communication equipment. In response to the situation, the Governor of Benue suspended three government officials, including the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, and the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, each for a period of one month.

The Governor emphasized his commitment to the rule of law and transparency, while commending the House of Assembly for its constitutional responsibility.
