Young Golfer Toluawalash Balogun Wins Golf for Peace

Toluawalash Balogun, an 11-year-old golfer, emerged as the overall ladies' winner at the Golf for Peace tournament held at Ikoyi Club 1938, achieving a post-gross score of 90 off a handicap of 24, resulting in a net score of 66. Abiodun Adesina secured the overall title in the men's category with a gross score of 90 off a handicap of 26, finishing with a net score of 70.

This fifth edition of the tournament attracted 120 golfers from various clubs across Nigeria, including IBB International Golf Country Club and Cross Creek Golf Club. Kemi Olowoyo Otegbad, the founder of Golf for Peace, emphasized the tournament's broader message of inclusion and access to the sport for all Nigerians.

The event was marked as the first time it was hosted at Ikoyi Club's golf section. Abimbola Ajinibi, chairman of the planning committee, highlighted the event's philosophy of promoting peace and addressing insecurity through non-violent means.

Balogun expressed her calm approach to the game, reinforcing the unifying power of golf.
