Golf for Peace Tournament Promotes Unity Across Nigeria

The Golf for Peace tournament, organized by Heartlink, is an initiative designed to foster unity and dialogue among communities in Nigeria through the medium of sports. Following the success of previous tournaments, the latest event was held at Ikoyi Club 1938, attracting 120 golfers from various parts of the country.

Kemi Olowoyo, who promotes peace through sports, emphasized the tournament as a platform for dialogue and collaboration to build peace across communities. Toluawalash Balogun, an 11-year-old golfer, emerged as the overall women's winner with a net score of 66, while Abiodun Adesina claimed the men's title with a net score of 70.

Abimbola Ajinibi, the chairman of the planning committee, highlighted the initiative's commitment to addressing insecurity and social unrest through peaceful dialogue. Mobolaji Ogunlend commended the organizers for using sports as a tool to foster unity and social cohesion.
