Federal Polytechnic Ukana Announces First Convocation Ceremony

Federal Polytechnic Ukana in Akwa Ibom State is set to hold its first-ever convocation ceremony, marking a significant milestone after 11 years of operation. The announcement was made by the rector, Mr.

Eduma Essien, during the institution's anniversary celebration held on Monday at the institute's auditorium. Essien noted that the institution has secured accreditation for 21 academic programs within the first three months of his tenure, which includes 13 National Diploma (ND) and 12 Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.

Additionally, the institution received approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for its TVET programs, which include skill training centers in various trades. Essien emphasized the steps taken to address infrastructure gaps, supported by projects funded by the TETFund.

Hon. Patrick Umoh, representing Ikot Ekpen, commended Essien's leadership and urged others to emulate his efforts.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Umoh, praised the rector's initiatives to improve educational access.
