Federal Polytechnic Ukana Announces First Convocation Ceremony

Federal Polytechnic Ukana, located in Akwa Ibom State, is set to hold its maiden convocation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institution's 11-year history. The announcement was made by the rector, Mr.

Eduma Essien, during the celebration of the institution's one-year anniversary. Mr.

Essien highlighted that the polytechnic has secured accreditation for 21 academic programs within the first three months of his tenure. This accreditation includes 13 National Diploma (ND) and 12 Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.

Additionally, the institution has received approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education for its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, which will operate skill training centers in various trades, including fashion design, leather work, and painting. The rector noted that efforts are underway to address infrastructural gaps, with several projects sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) at various stages of completion.
