Plateau State: 11,749 Killed, 420 Communities Affected by Violent Attacks Since 2001

A fact-finding panel in Plateau State revealed that 11,749 people have been killed, and 420 communities across 13 LGAs have been affected by violent attacks since 2001. Major General Nicholas Rogers, the committee chair, highlighted the alarming number of casualties and communities impacted by the violence.

The report presented to Governor Caleb Mutfwang aims to address the ongoing crisis and prevent future occurrences. Rogers emphasized the need for the full implementation of the panel's recommendations to restore peace and security in the state.

He also stressed the importance of developing effective conflict management mechanisms and enhancing the role of security agencies to safeguard lives and property.
