Plateau Killings Linked to Neighboring States - Committee Unveils Motives and Attack Routes

A fact-finding committee established by Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to investigate the ongoing killings in the state has linked the attacks to neighboring states. The committee, led by Major General Rogers Ibe Nicholas (rtd), discovered that attackers often cross into Plateau from states like Nasarawa, Kaduna, Bauchi, and Taraba to launch quick strikes before retreating.

The report highlighted various motives behind the attacks, including land disputes, resource control, political destabilization, and criminal profiteering. The committee identified specific routes used by the attackers and established the presence of bandits and extremists in bordering villages.

The findings underscore the complex nature of the security challenges facing Plateau State.
