UNIPORT to Graduate 8,156 Students, 120 First-Class Degrees

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) will hold its 36th combined convocation ceremony on June 6, 2026, where it will confer first-class degrees to 120 graduates. The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Prof.

Owunari Georgewil during a press briefing in Port Harcourt. A total of 8,156 students will graduate, including 510 post-graduate diploma recipients, 1,386 master's degree holders, and 438 Doctor of Philosophy graduates.

Barr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, will deliver the convocation lecture, emphasizing the importance of academic tradition.

The ceremony will feature various events, including a thanksgiving service, tree planting, and a research fair. Prof.

Georgewil, whose tenure ends next month, reaffirmed the university's commitment to academic excellence and character development. The convocation will also include awards for best graduating students and a dinner for first-class graduates.
