Edo State Police Arrest 13 Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Abducted Victims in Security Operations

The Edo State Police Command has apprehended 13 suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims in various security operations across the state. The arrests were made following targeted intelligence gathering and swift responses in coordination with bush combing operations in Esan West and Owan West local government areas.

The operations were part of sustained security measures to combat criminal activities. The police dismantled a criminal network and denied offenders safe havens.

Notably, on January 26, 2026, the police operation in Ekpoma led to the arrest of five suspects linked to vandalizing pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in Uhiel community. Additionally, on January 28, 2026, a coordinated bush combing operation in Idoha Ewu forest resulted in the discovery of a kidnappers' hideout, leading to the arrest of eight suspects and the recovery of five mobile phones belonging to the victims.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover more syndicate members involved in criminal activities.
