14 Suspected Vandals Arrested at MMIA on April 20, 2026

On April 20, 2026, fourteen individuals were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) during a coordinated security operation involving the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) security personnel and the Joint Military Task Force (JMTF). According to a statement by Henri Agbebir, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, the suspects were allegedly able to gain access to a construction site by impersonating authorized construction workers.

They were caught vandalizing materials, including copper wire and iron components, which were removed from the project site. The suspects are currently in the custody of the airport police command, where investigations and prosecutions are ongoing.
