Four Suspected Bandits Arrested at Ondo Airport

Four suspected bandits were apprehended near Akur Airport in Ondo State as a result of a coordinated security operation. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) announced the arrests following a distress alert regarding suspicious individuals spotted behind the airport perimeter towards Eleyewo Community.

The operation involved personnel from FAAN's aviation security, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and local security groups, including Amotekun. Henri Agbebir, FAAN's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, confirmed that the suspects attempted to flee the area but were eventually captured.

He commended the swift collaboration among the various security agencies, emphasizing the importance of strengthening airport perimeter security. FAAN is committed to enhancing security infrastructure nationwide, with ongoing efforts to install modern perimeter fencing to protect airports from unlawful access and security threats.
