Four Suspected Bandits Arrested at Akure Airport

On a late Sunday, security operatives arrested four suspected bandits at Akure Airport in Ondo State. The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) reported that the suspects were first sighted behind the airport perimeter fence towards Eleyewo Community, prompting an immediate search operation.

Local aviation security personnel quickly mobilized to secure the area. During the operation, the suspects reportedly attempted to escape but were successfully apprehended by a joint security team that included personnel from the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Amotekun Corps, and community vigilante groups.

The suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation. FAAN praised the swift collaboration among the various security agencies involved in the operation, highlighting the effectiveness of their coordinated efforts in ensuring safety at the airport.
