1,540 Students Matriculate at Osun State Agriculture University

On Thursday, 1,540 pioneer students officially matriculated at the Federal University of Agriculture, Development Studies in Iragbiji, Osun State. The maiden matriculation ceremony took place at the university's temporary campus and was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mufutau Atayero. He highlighted the university's achievements, including the appointment of the head of the institution, and the establishment of three faculties comprising a total of 28 departments. The university has recruited 226 academic and non-academic staff to enhance service delivery and fulfill its core mandate. Prof. Atayero disclosed that the university received intervention projects from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, with construction work expected to commence soon on a 740-hectare permanent site. The Federal University of Agriculture, Development Studies was established on February 20, 2025, via the Federal University of Agriculture Development Studies Iragbiji Establishment Act 2025, with a mandate to carry out teaching, research, and community engagement, focusing on agriculture as a flagship program.
