Building Collapse in Kano Injures 16, Investigation Underway

A building collapse in Kano resulted in 16 injuries, as confirmed by ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service. The service received a distress call at approximately 4:32 am from staff member Aminu Sani Warure.

Upon arrival, operatives found a 20×30 ft structure reduced to rubble. Thirteen victims, including children, were rescued, with identified individuals being Al-Mustapha Yusuf (15), Khadija Yusuf (7), Ummusalama Yusuf (10), Madina Yusuf (6), and Hafsat Yusuf (9).

Additionally, three unconscious victims, Affan Yusuf (5), Hassana Yusuf (7), and Ummulkursum Yusuf (9 months), were also rescued. All victims were handed over to Usman Ibrahim, a relative of their father, for further medical attention.

The cause of the building's collapse is currently under investigation, and residents have been advised to take extra precautions during the rainy season to prevent similar incidents.
