Kaduna Residents and DHQ Disagree Over Failed Rescue Operation of 166 Abducted Church Members

In Kaduna State, the Kurmin Wali community in Kajuru Local Government Area faulted the military for failing to rescue 166 church members abducted by bandits. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) and residents disagreed over the aborted rescue operation, with allegations of troop withdrawal and a feeble attempt to enter the forest where the victims were held.

Despite efforts, only 11 managed to escape while 166 remained captive. The community head, Ishaku Dan Azumi, criticized the military for not effectively pursuing the kidnappers into the forest, where the bandits are known to hide.
