Ngumoha Named in England's World Cup Squad for 2026

Ngumoha, a 17-year-old forward eligible to represent Nigeria, has been included in England's 30-man traveling squad for a preparatory camp in Florida ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. England's manager, Thomas Tuchel, announced the squad, which features four uncapped players, including Liverpool's Ngumoha, Bournemouth's Alex Scott, and Fulham's Josh King.

Tuchel explained that the decision aims to integrate promising young talent into the senior setup while maintaining squad depth. Recently, Ngumoha was nominated for the 2026 Golden Boy award, recognizing the best U21 player in Europe.

He had a breakthrough season with Liverpool, scoring twice in 18 Premier League appearances last month, making him the youngest ever Premier League goalscorer for Liverpool at 17 years and 225 days old. Ngumoha has represented England at various youth levels, including U15, U16, U17, and U19, making his U19 debut in a friendly against Ukraine in September 2025.

The training camp will run from June 1 to June 13, with England set to face New Zealand and Costa Rica in friendly matches.
