Kwara State to Send 1,714 Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board announced that 1,714 pilgrims from the state intend to participate in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia. Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the board's secretary, disclosed this during a radio program in Ilorin.

He stated that preparations for the pilgrimage are at an advanced stage, ensuring necessary arrangements for a smooth and hitch-free exercise, including visa readiness and accommodation in Saudi Arabia. The board will distribute basic travel allowances to the intending pilgrims next week.

The Hajj Commission of Nigeria has scheduled the nationwide flight inauguration for May 3, with Kwara's airlift planned in three batches on May 6, May 7, and May 9 via Max Air. Abdulkadir emphasized the importance of keeping the permit access card safe, describing it as a critical travel document.

The first session of an enlightenment program for pilgrims will be held on April 19, led by Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulhamid, with a second session on April 26 presided over by Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen. The approved Hajj fare for Kwara pilgrims is set at N7.75 million, with those who previously paid N8.5 million eligible for refunds.
