APC Governors Back Uzodinma, Dismiss Faction Claims

Eighteen governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) convened to pass a vote of confidence in Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, dismissing any claims of factional leadership within the party. This decision was announced during a closed-door meeting at the Imo Lodge, where all eighteen governors were physically present.

Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris stated that Uzodinma's deputy, Uba Sani from Kaduna State, will remain the chairman of the Progress Governors Forum (PGF).

The meeting aimed to address concerns regarding unity within the APC, especially in light of reports suggesting leadership changes. The governors expressed their commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensuring a successful outcome in the upcoming primaries and elections scheduled for January 2027.

They emphasized the need for collaboration and performance to provide necessary social interventions for Nigerians, reinforcing their unity and focus on party goals.
