20 APC Governors Vote No Confidence in Uzodimma

A crisis has emerged within the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) as twenty governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of no confidence in the forum's chairman, Hope Uzodimma, who is also the governor of Imo State. The vote was conducted during an extraordinary meeting held on Thursday night in Abuja, shortly after Vice President Kashim Shettima submitted President Bola Tinubu's presidential nomination form.

The governors, including Peter Mbah of Enugu State, are reportedly seeking to replace Uzodimma with Mbah as the new chairman. Concerns have been raised regarding Uzodimma's leadership style and allegations of financial impropriety, with claims that he has failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these allegations.

The situation has prompted discussions about President Bola Tinubu's potential intervention, although it remains unclear if he will take action. The meeting included participation from governors across various states, with notable support for Uzodimma from governors of Yobe, Lagos, Gombe, Kogi, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo, Sokoto, Jigawa, and Kaduna.
