Troops Rescue Two Abducted Females in Edo State

On March 28, 2023, troops from the Nigerian Army successfully rescued two females, Odio Momoh, aged 17, and Sonia Momoh, aged 23, who had been kidnapped in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State. The operation was led by Capt.

Kennedi Anyanwu, a spokesperson for the 4 Brigade Nigerian Army in Benin City. The rescue followed a distress call received on March 27, prompting a coordinated bush combing operation to locate the victims and apprehend the suspects.

During the operation, the suspects fled upon realizing they were surrounded, allowing the troops to rescue the victims by 8:30 PM on March 28. Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network in the area.

The rescued victims were subsequently reunited with their families.
