Nigerian Army Rescues Four Kidnap Victims in Edo State

On March 3, 2026, Nigerian Army troops from the 4 Brigade, 2 Division, in collaboration with the Edo State Security Corps, conducted an operation in Warak Forest, Auchi Local Government Area, Edo State. The operation aimed to neutralize a notorious kidnapper believed to be terrorizing the community.

During the operation, troops engaged in a firefight, leading to the death of the suspect and the rescue of four abducted victims: Stella Abba (29), Tina Ododa (19), Razak Rashid (27), and Mutanibi Kalifa (16), who were found unharmed and later reunited with their families. The operation also included a raid on a suspected hideout in Ujemen, Esan West Local Government Area, where a 39-year-old suspect, Omogbegha Solomon, was arrested.

Troops discovered a shrine containing charms and photographs of several individuals, which was subsequently destroyed. Brigadier General Ahm Balogun commended the troops for their professionalism and bravery, urging continued offensives against criminal elements in the region.
