Soldiers Neutralize Kidnapper, Rescue Four Victims in Edo

On March 3, 2026, troops from the Nigerian Army's 4 Brigade conducted a night operation in Warak Forest, Auchi, Edo State, following reports of gunfire. During the operation, they neutralized a notorious kidnapper and rescued four victims: Stella Abba (29), Tina Ododa (19), Razak Rashid (27), and Mutanibi Kalifa (16), who were found unhurt and later reunited with their families.

The operation was led by Capt. Kennedi Anyanwu and involved collaboration with personnel from the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and local vigilantes.

Additionally, a separate operation in Ujemen, Esan West Local Government Area, resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect, Omogbegha Solomon, at a hideout where a shrine containing charms and photographs was discovered. Brig.

Gen. Ahm Balogun commended the troops for their efforts and urged continued operations against criminal elements in the state.
